CAP PERSONNEL

Whether you are a seasoned interviewer or new to the concept, there are always new ways to brush up on your interviewing skills. When interviewing for a technical position, it is important to find the right candidate who has the knowledge and skills to operate your machinery correctly.

As the interviewer you need to know everything about the position, as you should be able to explain the duties and responsibilities which the candidate will need to fulfil. The specs of the position should be explained within five to six sentences, this should include a short overview of the company.

You need to establish whether or not the candidate is interested in the position, from there you can continue with the interview.

To make your interview more efficient and to find the right potential employee, we have put together a few sample questions you may want to ask our candidates:

  • What got you interested in the industry?
  • How well do you perform under pressure? Explain how you do this.
  • What types of machinery have you worked with, and have you ever had any difficulties with these?
  • General overview of your experience.
  • What challenges have you faced in previous positions, and how did you overcome them?
  • Do you have any other skills that can boost your performance if so, what are they?
  • Mention where the job is and confirm if the candidate is willing to make the trip.
  • Ask about their salary expectations.
  • After describing the job, what skills does the candidate have that would make them the ideal person for the position.
  • What are your career goals and aspirations and what steps have taken to achieve this goal.

By including these questions in your interview, you can assess whether the applicant is the right fit for your company.
