While you may want to get creative with your CV and make it more personal and unique to you, you need to keep in mind if the recruiter and company can access the programme on their PC.

The Cover Letter

Now that you have chosen the right programme to use, it’s time to start on your cover letter. When you type out your letter, ensure to include your highest qualifications. Your cover should be a summary of the highlights of your work history. Ensure to write the CV using simple terms and steer clear of jargon. You need to keep in mind that not every recruiter is an expert in your field, and by explaining your experience assists them in finding the right job to meet your experience. Remember to include your full name and contact details. If you are going to use clichés such as you’re a team player or fast learner, explain why this is true.

Your CV

The first page of your CV should consist of your basic information, such as your full name, contact details, driver’s licence code, availability, and ID number. Next, you’ll want to include your employment history starting with your most recent position and working backward to your first job. When explaining your employment history, you’ll want to include the position you held, your duties at the company, the company name and what they do, how long you were there, and your reason for leaving, keep this neutral. The Extras

If possible, include your main certificates with the highest qualifications as companies want to know how you can add value to their business. Don’t attach all your certificates, but rather mention them in your CV. Once you have completed your CV, go through it again and check for any spelling or grammar mistakes, as this can make a huge difference in whether your CV is successful or not.
